Lizard Walking With Two Legs

Posted by Animal King under Lizards

Have you ever seen a lizard that can run on two feet?  Scientist Christofer Clemente had seen lizards running with two legs and he tried to figure out why they bother to stand upright if all four legs are functional.

With Philip Withers, Graham Thompson and David Lloyd, Clemente tested how long can lizards run on two legs.  The found out that there was no correlation between bipedalism evolution between animals running with two legs.  Lizards running with two legs were also not much faster than four, and it required more energy to do so.  Scientists guessed that lizards might just be pulling a wheelie by running with two legs.

Unicorn Spotted in Italy

Posted by Animal King under Deers

unicorn deerMythological animal unicorn was spotted in a nature preserve in Italy.

An one-year-old Roe Deer was born in the research centre’s park in the Tuscan town of Prato. The deer was nicknamed “Unicorn” simply because it had only one horn at central position. It was believed that there was a genetic flaw in this deer; its twin has two horns.

The original mythical unicorn was single-horned horse.
